Impact of COVID-19 on automotive parts aftermarket demand

COVID-19 disease is hitting the world economy as never seen before, but, how is it really impacting on the volume of aftermarket demand in the different countries?

We have analyzed in detail the aftermarket demand of last 6 months in different countries, period analyzed is:

October 3rd 2019 – April 3rd 2020

Lets see demand volume chart on some of main countries:

China: Demand plummeted to -100% in mid-January 2020, but has gradually been recovering until returning to normal volume.

COVID-19 Demanda China

 

Italy: Demand began to decline in late February 2020, down -60% until mid-March. From then until now the volume of demand remains stable at -60%.

COVID-19 Demanda Italia

 

Spain: demand plummeted by -50% in mid-March 2020 and has been declining to -70% in the first week of April.

COVID-19 Demanda España

 

France: demand plummeted by -50% in mid-March 2020 and has been stable at -50% until the first week of April.

COVID-19 Demanda France

 

Germany: Demand fell by -20% in mid-March 2020 and has been stable at -20% until the first week of April.

COVID-19 Demanda Germany

United Kingdom: at the beginning of March 2020, demand began to drop by -5% or -10% points weekly, reaching -30% in the first week of April.

COVID-19 Demanda UK

 

The Netherlands: demand fell by -35% in mid-March 2020 and has been stable at -35% until the first week of April.

COVID-19 Demanda Holanda

 

Global: global demand has suffered a drop of -35% since the first mid-March 2020 and has remained stable at these levels until early April.

COVID-19 Demanda WORLD

 

Let’s hope that everything returns to normal as soon as possible and that demand returns to its usual levels.
